Roma

Our apartment in Roma was everything you can expect from a real Italian home (excellent well done Tracey). The lady who owned it moved out so we could use it which meant that everything was in situ including a well-stocked library (all in Italian), artwork plus vino.
Hit the ground running, knowing full well that we had to make the most of our limited time in the eternal city. It went something like this - basilica, basilica, basilica, basilica, ancient Roman ruin, basilica, basilica, basilica, basilica, piazza, piazza, piazza, ancient Roman ruin.

The colosseum, the forum, St Peters and the dome, the Vatican, the Vatican Museum, the Galleria Borghese, Trevi Fountain. (can highly recommend the three-day Roma pass, great value as is the public transport, but busy). How many old masters can one city hold, don't know the answer seems infinite.

  2. We reckon you skimped a bit on the basilicas in Rome. Do them properly next time.

  3. Great photos. Loved the one of the boys waiting ""patiently" while Tracey shopped in the leather shop. Hope you made some purchases.
